Differentiation syndrome with lower?intensity treatments for acute myeloid leukemia

چکیده

Differentiation Syndrome (DS) has been identified in a subset of patients undergoing treatment with novel classes differentiating therapies for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) such as IDH and FLT3 inhibitors. While DS is well-known treatment-related complication promyelocytic (APL), efforts are still ongoing to standardize diagnostic parameters AML. Though the rates incidence vary, many signs symptoms common between APL So, can lead fatal complications AML, but prompt management usually effective rarely necessitates interruption or discontinuation AML therapy.

Acute Myeloid Leukemia with Basophilic Differentiation Transformed from Myelodysplastic Syndrome

Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) terminally transforms to acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or bone marrow failure syndrome, but acute myeloid leukemia with basophilic differentiation has been rarely reported. An 81-year-old man was referred to our department for further examination of intermittent fever and normocytic anemia during immunosuppressive treatment. Chromosomal analysis showed additional a...

KIR2DS3 is Associated with Protection against Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Background: Interaction between killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIR) and human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class I molecules is important for regulation of natural killer (NK) cell function. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of compound KIR-HLA genotype on susceptibility to acute leukemia. Methods: Cohorts of Iranian patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML;...

An update of current treatments for adult acute myeloid leukemia.

Recent advances in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) biology and its genetic landscape should ultimately lead to more subset-specific AML therapies, ideally tailored to each patient's disease. Although a growing number of distinct AML subsets have been increasingly characterized, patient management has remained disappointingly uniform. If one excludes acute promyelocytic leukemia, current AML manage...

Differentiation Therapy of Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) is a predominant acute leukemia among adults, characterized by accumulation of malignantly transformed immature myeloid precursors. A very attractive way to treat myeloid leukemia, which is now called 'differentiation therapy', was proposed as in vitro studies have shown that a variety of agents stimulate differentiation of the cell lines isolated from leukemic pati...

Gefitinib induces myeloid differentiation of acute myeloid leukemia.

Cure rates for patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remain low despite ever-increasing dose intensity of cytotoxic therapy. In an effort to identify novel approaches to AML therapy, we recently reported a new method of chemical screening based on the modulation of a gene expression signature of interest. We applied this approach to the discovery of AML-differentiation-promoting compounds....
